MEET DAKOTA "DAKS" BALMORE

As, Dakota Balmore, my identity must remain a mystery, because I write for middle-grade children under a name much closer to my own. It is my way of protecting their innocence. However, I will answer any question truthfully if emailed … and even provide a picture of the real me.

However ... If Dakota Balmore Were Real, This Would Be Me

NOW                                                             IN 1843

NOW

Laid back. Leisurely. Kicking off my boots, planting both feet in nature, and watching the rat race go on without me. I wouldn't go looking for love, but allow it to find me.

1843

I'd start with humble beginnings, the eldest daughter with four younger sisters to help rear, kind of like Charlotte Wimpole's best friend, Rosena, in my historical novel Growing Up Victorian. Somehow I'd make my way in the world, demand equal footing and achieve a comfortable career in writing. Then my name would be listed among the very few Victorian female authors. I wouldn't go looking for love then either, but again allow it to find me demanding that it fit into the world I built.
