This novel is mostly written. Queen Victoria has gotten wind that Reuters News Agency is sending a male correspondent to cover the Crimean War between England and Russia. It marks the first time a journalist has ever gone into the field of battle. She summons Jane, who is employed now by Charles Dickens's tabloid the Daily News, and asks her to serve England by going as the first female correspondent.
